AutoSlash is a service that finds and books consumers the cheapest car rental rates on the web. I designed their brand identity, created custom icons, illustrations and marketing material, and devised a friendly, modern, inviting web interface for their booking engine. As the brand designer, I developed and maintained a flexible design library and brand guidelines so that new features as well as marketing campaigns can remain consistent over time.
To allow customers to input their rental needs as well as any cost-saving memberships and mileage programs they might have, I designed a responsive wizard that step-by-step asks users for this key information. Customers then receive a single email that consolidates the lowest car rental rates that meet their needs. Working closely with the customer support team, I also frequently reviewed common support queries to make UI improvements. In addition to price, a lot of factors influence customer decisions about the most ideal car rental to book, including company ratings, refundability, and rental counter convenience. I used a clear information hierarchy to allow users to easily compare these factors to make a confident decision.
Since its launch in 2010, AutoSlash has racked up recommendations from Inc., Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure and performed well in consumer review site tests such as The Points Guy 2020, saving a million customers over $50M on their car rentals.
